I have had an ongoing love affair with animals and art since I was a child. Receiving my first art award and recognition in the fifth grade, I have since then, continued to draw and paint. I love to visit art museums and art galleries in various parts of the world, studying the works of artists I respect and admire in an attempt to develop my own personal style. A turning point in my life and journey with art came when I had the opportunity to meet Lajos Markos at a painting demonstration given by him. I was able to start attending his life drawing and painting classes. I studied with him for three years, which gave me the foundation I needed.
I am influenced by the works of James Reynolds, Sir Alfred Munnings, Bob Kuhn, as well as living artists…Ken Carlson, Andy Thomas, Oleg Stavrowsky, Bill Anton, and many more.
The ability to capture an animal or any subject's expressions and gestures, is something I strive for, and a continual growth process. The art journey is something I consider myself fortunate and honored to be involved in. I spend a lot of time observing animals from life and searching for reference material for my next painting. I am an ex-MFH with the Longacre Hunt, which thrust me into the world of hounds, horses, and galloping across the countryside. I reside in the Texas Hill Country with my 3 dogs. I look forward to seeing where my work goes and continuing my love affair with art!
